Engineering Department

3R staffs a diverse team of engineers in order to meet the needs of our clients. Our years of understanding the rigorous and often extreme forces of the motorsports world has afforded a solid foundation of research, development, testing and quality assurance. Our team can start from scratch or provide fill in services as needed.

Our motorsports specialties include:

Kinematics – Suspension analysis, design and manufacture

Safety – Series specific (and beyond) design and implementation

Mechanical – Design and fabrication of performance optimizing engine & drivetrain hardware

Electrical – Implementation of engine management, data acquisition, & power distribution wiring

Programming – Dyno and track tuning of powertrain management systems

In addition to our motorsport engineering services we make our staff and equipment available to the business community. For many projects we will be able to facilitate modeling, prototype building and small run manufacturing. At our Denver, Colorado facility we can offer these engineering services for projects of all sizes:

  • Project analysis and white paper writing
  • Use case study
  • Critical measurements on state of the art equipment
  • Load and thermal analysis
  • Manufacture ready prints and models
  • Prototype building
  • Small run manufacturing

Engineering services from the team at 3R Racing

We are specialists in prototyping and small volume production of high performance assemblies. Our in-house team of professionals in engineering design, research, manufacturing and production, and wiring and data acquisition will work with you to solve your most challenging problems.

Need prints?

You already have a design, but need to communicate it to a manufacturer in their language. Our draftsman can work with anything from a hand-sketch to parametric 3D solid models to produce a professional set of mechanical drawings.

Need analysis?

You have an idea, but you need to know if it will withstand what your customer can throw at it. You can specify a load case, or we can develop one for you. Then our engineers can quantify your design’s lifespan. Want more? We can advise changes to minimize risk, cost or your metric of choice.

Need parts?

We have in-house CNC machining centers, welding and fabrication professionals, as well as composites technicians. We also maintain a network of partners for hobbing, abrasive machining, additive manufacturing, metal spinning, injection molding and more.

Need a finishing touch?

The manufacturing world is a maze of surface engineering and finishing options. We can bring your parts to our preferred vendors for plating, heat treating, powder coating, isotropic super finishing, and more. We know the standards, the requirements and tests to make sure it’s done right.

Reverse engineering?

Our tool library includes a 3D coordinate measuring machine. Teamed with our CAD software and trained operators, we can document your existing parts and assemblies.
